I can't help but mention the fact that Canterbury is twinned with a town in the USA called Bloomington-Normal. Because if there's one thing Canterbury's not, it's Blooming Normal. It has an extraordinary cathedral, a very important Archibishop, and provided the theme for Chaucer's 'The Canterbury Tales'. On top of all this, it has some lovely, top-quality beauty salons to be discovered. Phew. One can only imagine what Bloomington-Normal has to offer.
