It was my second experience of a Shiatsu massage after experiencing one at a centre in Soho, London that was rather intensive and given by a Japanese man. I found Charlie, the therapist, much more down to earth and holistic in his approach. After an initial in depth consultation of my medical history I then lay on the floor. You need to wear loose comfortable clothing for the various stretches and you'll most likely be on the padded floor with cushions as opposed to a bed. He does offer a bed and chair should you need it for a specific focus e.g neck or back.It was a bit odd at first getting used to the different types of massage and stretches but I can tell you that you feel comfortable in Charlie's hand and I felt that he really was in tune with me. It lasted for hours afterwards and went on to have an amazing sleep! I felt the effects physically and mentally and will definitely look to go back for regular treatment.
