I have been a loyal customer to Spa Adriana for about 2-3 years, and I have experienced many services from several stylists. I have had my haircut by the owner of the spa Adriana Vater, and was supremely underwhelmed. She charges atleast 70 dollars for a haircut, and will cut your hair straight across, and blow dry it with a flat paddle brush. It will probably look healthy, and shiny, not by any means be worth the cost. Within a few days from the cut, I noticed no difference in the way my hair fell in comparison to before I had gotten it cut. I have also gone to the co-owner John Vater for color throughout my whole time at Spa Adriana. The truth is John Vater will give you gorgeous hair color. If you can deal with his ridiculous banter about how his technique is deeply tied to his extensive knowledge of chemistry (even with his lack of a high school diploma...) and that his hair color can change any boring mouse to a sultry vixen, go for it. Also, you will have to deal with his ridiculous prices (275 and up for full head highlights.) Nevertheless, he made a dramatic change in the texture and condition of my hair, I came in with fried blonde hair destroyed by Cactus Salon directly across Spa Adriana and John told me to my dismay I had to cut all my hair off (to the shoulder) and begin the color correction process. Over the next year and a half no lightening was done to my hair and any color deposited into my hair was to correct the damage/ match my natural color. For about 6 months following the color correction process, I stopped coloring my hair completely. A month ago, I returned to have a half foil done. He charged 225, explaining that my hair had considerably grown and required a significant amount of extra effort. I can no longer afford to have my hair highlighted by him as his prices have increased so radically and even after years of patronage to him, he neglects my loyalty. Ultimately I am fed up and am left to believe that it was the Aveda products not his "craftmanship" that resulted in the improvement of my hair and therefore, wish to take my business to another salon much farther from home. BUT- There is one member of the staff who truly cares about her customers and delivers services of the highest quality. She is genuinely one of the best aestheticians I have ever received services from. Her name is Ava, and she is a beautiful blonde of Eastern European decent. I recommend her completely, for not only any facial, but also for massages, waxing and reflexology. You will not be disappointed by her, she is wonderful and her facials are highly effective.
