About Guliver Energija Health & Beauty Centre

All of my visits to Guliver Energija were exclusively for the half-body or full-body medical massage with a trained physical therapist at the spa, which was a bonus as she was knowledgeable about my scoliosis problem.I always requested the same therapist, who was an excellent masseuse and always seemed to be in a good mood, without fail. She was always responsive to my needs, taking care to ensure that I was as comfortable as possible, whether it be adjusting the temperature of the room, changing the music or finding a solution when we were once given a room without the classic massage table (there’s nothing I hate more than having a crick in my neck after a massage!). The only drawback was the choice in body lotions, a local Slovenian brand (Afrodita), which I don’t care for very much. However, considering how affordable the massages are compared to those in the West (about 120 HRK, or 25USD, for a half-hour, but still on the high end for Croatia), I won’t complain! Though gym members get a discount on spa services, I wish they also had a point program for repeat customers such as myself, especially as I tended to go quite often. I will say that one of the reasons my visits to Guliver stopped was because my therapist was let go, which on one hand I thought was ridiculous, because she was the best masseuse ever. However, I also knew that the therapists were overworked and underpaid, which is a complaint I had about the spa and which I conveyed in a letter to them ... so I hope she ended up finding a role somewhere else where the organization actually valued her talent and dedication. In terms of other services... My sister went to the hair salon once when she was looking for a stylist for her wedding. Based on her experience, I would not recommend Guliver’s hair salon as the results were quite amateurish. Though I have not used the gym, which opened in the summer of 2007, I did take a tour and will say I was quite impressed with the set-up. If I remember correctly, all the machines were Life Fitness. The rooms for group exercises are enormous and well-equipped and I was intrigued by the Kinesis room. And the locker room is a statement of luxury, with its sleek look and mini sauna room I was dying to use! A major drawback of the gym is that it doesn’t have a pool, which for me would then justify the monthly membership fees.
