About Double Take Studios Southampton
My friend and I went for a make over with Double take after we were sold a voucher from some woman outside a shopping centre. She made it out to be a day of luxury and pampering and said that the experience included hair cuts and colours and make up, photos and bottles of champagne. It was a really cheap deal and it did all sound a bit too good to be true but she was very persuasive.We brought the vouchers and managed to book a double appointment at 9am in the morning and got there on time and the staff were pretty pleasant and took our bags and then sat us down in some seats and we were giving some albums to look through and told to pick out a look that we liked. As we sat there the place started to fill up with lots of other girls and everybody was looking a bit confused and uncomfortable. After almost an hour we were called over to have our hair done and then we found out that the colour was not included and if we wanted that we had to pay extra! The woman that did my hair didn’t really speak to me much, the style was good but it would have been nice if she was a bit more friendly. once our hair was done we had our make up done, I didn’t think that much of it to be honest and the manicure was a joke, I could have done just as good a job, if not better, myself, it was really just a few layers of nail varnish and they didn’t even give the layers time to dry so by now I was starting to think that this was not all it was cracked up to be. The champagne never materialized and it took us nearly two hours to get a cup of tea! Then we had to wait around to get our photos taken, by now the salon was packed and there was not even anywhere to sit, it was like a cattle market and everybody was having to wait around and everybody was getting really fed up and annoyed. After almost another hour we finally got our photos taken, the photographer was by far the most friendly person there and even though we didn’t feel our best we still enjoyed having our pictures take. It then took nearly another hour before we were able to see the pictures and then we were rushed through them and bullied into buying more than we wanted to, they are really pushy and you end up just agreeing to buy anything just so you can get out of there its dreadful.This was two months ago now and my pictures have still not turned up despite me calling them dozens of times to complain. I would never use this company again and think they need a serious rethink on how many people they can shove on their conveyor belt a day because I didn’t come across one person in there that had a good time or thought they had received good service. The makeover experience is a nice idea but in reality it’s a disaster when there are way too many people
