Reviewed by maria clarks on 2012-05-19 13:38:06 I had a shellac treatment done in this salon and it was performed up to standard. The shellac hasn't yet chipped and it has been just over 2 weeks now. The staff seem friendly but they don't seem to speak english up to my standard.

Reviewed by Sofia millen on 2012-05-08 14:05:28 My first impression with IMAGES was quite good. I bought a gift voucher for my friend and bought a manicure for myself. The manicure was performed to a decent standard. My only issue with this salon is that the staff were a bit too shy. I was happy with my manicure, but when it came to speaking to the therapist, I felt that she was more interested in doing the treatment correctly rather than speaking to me. Some people prefer to have their nails done properly and not speak to the therapist, but I'd like a bit of a chat.

Reviewed by Amber Lewit on 2012-05-02 13:52:54 I had an appointment in IMAGES on the 30th of April 2012 for a shellac manicure. I was greeted by a young lady at the reception and had the treatment performed on me. The shellac manicure was performed properly and carefully. The therapist I had was very friendly and informative. Overall, the shellac manicure was done in 50 minutes to a high standard. I am pleased with the results and it has not chipped so far. My only concern with IMAGES is that they charged me £40 for the service. I felt that this is quite high as I am used to being charged £38 in my local nail salon (Croydon).

Reviewed by jasmine lauiton on 2012-04-27 15:58:47 I bought an IPL hair removal voucher from Groupon for IMAGES towards the end of last year. I felt very reluctant to use this voucher as I have read reviews online in regards to the services at IMAGES, however I made an appointment and came in. I am not too sure how other people were treated, but the service I got from my therapist was very good. The IPL treatment was very effective after the first session and I am impressed. The staff all seems friendly and welcoming.

Reviewed by ZR on 2012-03-22 11:28:15 AVOID AT ALL COSTS - I HAD IPL TREATMENT AND AM LEFT WITH BURNS ON MY FACE. I had one treatment of the IPL on my upper lip, chin and neck. The girl clearly had no clue what she was doing, she put it on too high a heat setting and this resulted in her burning my face. They say they are trained but they have no clue. The place is highly unprofessional with the staff always talking amongst themselves, busy on their mobiles or doing their own nails. Do not make the same mistake as me by going to this place. I now have to live with this on my face and I would hate for someone else to go through the same thing.

Reviewed by Leavingclapham on 2012-03-09 20:06:57 RIP OFF. I have been to both the Putney and Clapham salons, each time asking for gel nails. I was charged £40 for the first application and then £35 for infills. Both times my nails have broken. Having now been to another salon and reading about the difference between gel and acrylic. Images gave me acrylic nails (powder and solution rather than ready made gel) but charged me for the more expensive gel nails. The new salon I have found is cleaner, more professional and less expensive than images plus I was given gel nails not acrylic!

Reviewed by Tracey on 2012-02-27 11:23:26 I can't decide whether to use my Groupon gift voucher, given to me as a present. Feedback is not encouraging!I can't get through on the phone anyway (to Putney) at the moment and the website is being updated. Are they basically a nail salon that's trying to offer extra treatments, through companies like Groupon. My voucher is for massage & facial & earlier customer feedback very negative, not worth the travel fare to get there??

Reviewed by Minnie on 2012-02-25 20:06:51 This experience was absolutley rubbish. Bought a Group-on massage and facial and it was the poorest treatment I've ever had. The so-called massage was unprofessional and carried out by someone who, I am sure, was not a qualified masseuse. It was meant to be a full body, 1 hr massage. She did my legs and feet for about 40 min of the time (also didn't get the full hour, more like 50 mins) and the reminder of the time, the rest of the body. The techniqes used were very basic to say the least - my 7 year old son gives better massages! Then it was the facial. Which consisted on putting on a face pack. That's it. Then I laid there while the lady sat on the floor next to/under the massage bench. For 25 mintes. She then cleaned my face and put moisturizer on. That was the facial. It was absolutley terrible from start to finish. And in addition, of course, no music, scented candles, robe/towel, absolutley no atmosphere or relaxing environment. Don't waste your money here!

Reviewed by CIndy Smith on 2012-02-06 21:27:25 Went for a massage and facial via a Groupon gift; Massuesespent more time on the back of my calves and less on my thighs! Tho have to say she did well with my back! However, when she got me to turn over onto my back, she left out my arms, hands, top of legs and top of shoulders, and neck, and went straight to face. I could hear general chit chat above the pop music -highly inappropriate for a relaxing massage! Also, she hardly spoke English, and I had to tell her I was contraindicated/had a medical condition, rather than the other way round. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a weekend of training in massage. It comes across as an unprofessionally run place - they did not give me a pre treatment form to fill in re my health assessment, etc. On a health and safety issue, this is irresponsible. When I initially rang to book, they told me to ring back in half and hour, as the appointment book was missing! Also, like a post above, they subsequently rang me to change my appointment. It is a very unprofessionally run place. I can see a disaster happening with their lack of management skills and disregard for health and safety issues.Places like this need to be monitered. I left that speechless!

Reviewed by jenny on 2012-01-04 15:26:07 AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This salon doesn't even deserve one star. After many a phone calls (they usually do not pick up), they directed me to brixton. When i got there to book in person they don't have massage facilities (which is what i paid for via Groupon) and said I had to call the Clapham branch, which I then did and booked an appointment. One the day I read all these reviews so I called ahead to double check that my appointment was actually going to go ahead. They said yes. When I arrived i was told that the masseus hadn't turned up for any appointments that day I would I like to re-book? I had travelled for an hour to get there and am moving out of town so this was really inconvenient and a complete waste of time! A joke for a company!!!!

Reviewed by Disatisfied Customer on 2011-11-29 14:59:19 AVOID THIS SALON LIKE THE PLAGUE! I recently bought a Groupon voucher for IPL Hair removal. The beautician is incredibly unprofessional in the booking of appointments and administering of treatment. I was told I didn't need a patch test but when I called in to confirm my appointment they said I couldn't come because I hadn't had a patch test. I arranged a patch test which was conducted in a rather unprofessional manner. A week later I was scheduled to have my first treatment but was called to say that they had double-booked my appointment and I couldn't come. They have no availability when trying to book appointments as I had to wait a month and a half for an appointment only for it to be cancelled. This salson is disastrous! I would avoid it like the plague - unecessary stress! Loads of other competitors in this market.

Reviewed by Ling on 2011-11-21 14:38:20 OMG! I wish I had read these reviews before going for my eyelash appointment. I too went to the Putney branch last Wednesday and I have already complained to the manager of the Images branch. I also had the same experience of having them stuck onto my eyelid and not the actual eyelash. I have had eyelash extensions many times and can't believe how shocking they were! They tilt so far down they actually obscure my sight as it is in my eyeline! They are uneven on both eyes and when I complained to the 'therapist' she said it was like this to look 'natural'! You can even see the line of where my natural lashes are and the extensions below them. They have also started to break off already on the 3rd day of having them done. Trying to get another appointment to get them fixed or jsut removed is proving to be a complete nightmare! My advice is to avoid at all costs!

Reviewed by Petra on 2011-10-13 16:21:58 I went to the Putney branch of this salon. I had bought a groupon voucher for the eyelash extensions. I am thoroughly dissapointed with this. I had eyelashes done for the past year and never have i come accross such an unprofessional eyelash technician! If you are going to offer eyelash extensions, then please teach your staff first how to do them properly as otherwise you can damage the natural lashes! Not only did the woman poke me with each eyelash that she was attaching, she also glued most of them to my eyelid rather than the lash itself. And when it was applied to the lash, she put about 3 to 4 strands on one lash which will never last as its too heavy. She also used an enourmeous amount of glue that was really uncomfortble. Bottom line, they only lasted for a week, damaged my natural lashes and i am really dissapointed and very surprised that "technicians" like that are even allowed to apply eyelashes. I would never ever go back, and i would never recommend it to anyone

Reviewed by Indigo on 2011-10-09 14:19:05 I visited the salon on a groupon offer for an hour long Swedish massage. The day before I was due to visit someone phoned to reschedule my appointment because they had double booked. When I arrived at the salon it was not yet open because the girl who had the keys hadn't arrived yet! They asked me to return in 10 minutes which I did, I was taken to the massage room without any further comment or apology and was given my massage but it was a bit random with the girl massaging my back and then my legs alternately without really massaging my shoulders or neck or asking any questions or speaking at all. Then someone else walked into the room and took over my massage again without a word and a few minutes later I was abruptly told my massage was finished. The massage was fine but my girlfriend could give me the same quality of massage for free. I wouldn't go back.

Reviewed by D on 2011-10-05 13:30:22 I'm really surprised with all the bad reviews on here. I go in regularly and have always found the staff pleasant and eager to do a good job. I know sometimes they can be a bit distracted but I think that is a slight cultural difference as a lot of the girls there are vietnamese. They are always very neat and do an excellent job. I think the prices are about average for zone 2 in London. It's not an uber swanky professional place liek you might get in Mayfair but they do the job to my high expectations and always have a chat with me whilst I'm there.

Reviewed by KC on 2011-10-02 14:19:57 Unprofessional. Their website allows you to book an appointment at any of their three branches. I made an online request for the fiberglass nail treatment and received an email asking me to confirm. I replied "yes" and got another email saying "you're all booked in, have a great day." I arrived on the day of the appointment and the woman who greeted me said "we don't do appointments." Then she proceeded to look past me as if the window was more exciting. So I asked if I could still get the fiberglass treatment, and she said "we don't do fiberglass." She handed me their services list, which is different from what is advertised on their website. I was shocked, confused and offended. It would have been easier to deal with if the lady was at least respectful/professional. But the lack of service, coupled with her poor attitude, added up to a complete waste of time.

Reviewed by Jane on 2011-09-20 19:35:40 I went for eyelash extension through a groupon deal, you would think for £19 this was a bargin. Firstly I was greeted by a teenager who could not even manage a smile and then spent all of her time messaging on her blackberry. I thought my experience of the eyelash extension would be better, h how I was wrong. I already has eyelashes on and essentially this was a top up, but the lady insisted I remove the old lashes so she can put on a new set, I agreed. The experience was extremely weird with the lady propping the palette of glue on top my my head and loose eyelashes on my forehead which she would pick up individually with tweasers. I felt a slight discomfort everytime she put an eyelash in, but chose to ignore it as each technician works differently. Only after she was done had I realise that she had stuck each eyelash to the skin of my eyelid and not to any of my natural lash at all. To add insult to injury upon leaving I was asked to pay £7 for the removal of my previous eyelashes. If I had known I would have forfeit the £19 paid for the groupon voucher . I definately would not recommend this place, I normally don't write reviews but honestly I would not like someone to have the same experience. Customer service nil, actual service nil.

Reviewed by sally on 2011-08-31 13:28:13 I have enjoyed going to this salon for 5months going every two weeks to have my nails done. On my last visit I enjoyed a pedicure and manicure, agreeing that the price would be 40pounds prior to having this done, when found out it would be 55 at the till I questioned this. As said this was disappointing and must have been a misunderstanding I proceeded to question the price. Whilst discussing this. The manager of the salon locked me in until paid the money.hilst other clients were there..need we say more...will not be returning to this salon unfortunately. As this is the best in the area from all my previous experiences with them.

Reviewed by Jo on 2011-08-20 16:25:47 This salon is a joke and completely unprofessional. For a start, they only accept cash, which I find ridiculous for a nail salon in this day and age. When I arrived for my manicure and pedicure in was invited to choose from the Essie or Opi nail polishes on a shelf. They had a pretty limitedbselection and the colour I wanted was an Essie, which they do actually stock, but they did not have a bottle of it open. I asked that they open a new bottle but they told me I would have to buy the bottle of polish myself! I feel that this is completely unacceptable...why should the client be forced to pay for the polish when we are already forking out for the service. The women working there have not got fluent English and they had no idea about customer service. I walked out with my precious cash, and will never return.
