Islington EC1R
Islington has excellent transport links, including Highbury and Islington tube and Angel tube, at either ends of Upper Street. Many bus routes go through the area, with the number 19 getting to the West End in half an hour. N1 boasts a vast and diverse range of shops, bars, entertainment and restaurants. High street shops such as Oasis, Monsoon and FCUK can be found in the N1 shopping centre, which can be found between Liverpool Road and Upper Street. There is a large Sainsbury's on Liverpool Road. There are also plenty of more unusual shops to peruse, including a number of interior shops and clothing boutiques. The area is also known for having a large number of Estate Agent Offices, which speaks for the demand to live in the area. Chapel Market is a popular street market specialising in fruit and veg, amongst other things. Camden Passage is famous for its antique stalls and shops. The Mall Antiques Arcade, which was built from a disused tram shed in 1979, now houses one of the largest collections of antiques dealers in the world. N1 also contains a number of famous theatres, including the Almeida Theatre, The King's Head Theatre and The Chicken and Hen Theatre on St Pauls Road. Another famous venue is The Hope and Anchor pub, which was prominent in the 1970s and 80s punk and new wave scenes, hosting bands such as U2, Madness and Dire Straits to name but a few.
