Top Ten New Season Hair Ideas to put the Bounce Back in your Barnet

It is a well known fact amongst women that hair is the most important part of an outfit. Forget accessories; hair is the start point, finishing touch, and the glue that holds it all together. It is no wonder then that for women everywhere the most stressful part of the morning regime is without a doubt the hair. One bad hair day and bam! You’ll be at the bottom of the pecking order amongst your friends and colleagues before you know it. On the other hand if you pick the right phenomenal new style, you essentially become a God amongst mortals, paving the way with your luscious locks.

Consequently the scale of decision making when it comes to choosing your new style from the new season trends is beyond comparison, but if we had to we would unquestionably put it on a similar par to the government deciding how to bring Britain out of the recession, or at least definitely as hard as deliberating whether the Middle East is a hot bed of nuclear weapons or not. With this in mind we’ve amassed a list of our top ten new season hair styles, hopefully not only to ease the pain of the decision making, but also inspire you to bite the bullet and try something new with your barnet. We have put together our pick of the latest hair style trends, the ones being sported on all the catwalks and in every magazine by our favourite celebrities. So kick back and enjoy browsing our selection of styles, handpicked for you.

10/ The Pixie Crop

This versatile style is still holding its ground as a fresh and new hair cut. It can be messed up for the evening or tamed down for the day, making it a favourite among celebrities such as Keira Knightley and Rihanna. The pixie cut consists of short spiky layers that frame the face, really transforming your look. It is an ultra feminine style but it does require quite a lot of regular trimming, and as a rule it tends to suit those with heart shaped or oval faces, but if you are looking for a dramatic change this could be the look for you.

9/ Vintage 1940s Glamour Waves

Think modern glamour with an elegant Hollywood vibe. The style is inspired by film noir, and should be teamed with classic make up and styling. The hair should be teamed with an off-centre or side parting, with formed waves but not curls. The best way to achieve this look is with either a medium barrel curling iron or with curling tongs. See Lily Cole's recently shoot for French Elle in June 2010, where she epitomised this style and radiated 1940s glamour.

8/ The Cleopatra Bob

The bob is a hairstyle that will always be in fashion, it can be transformed from season to season, and this time it is the Cleopatra bob that takes centre stage. It is a dramatic cut with its sharp lines and edges, which teamed with a dark colour, can have a striking impact. The colour should be of a vampish hue for maximum effect, see Dannii Minogue’s in locks for inspiration.

7/ Micro Bob

A full fringe brings femininity to a short boyish crop, its a very daring look but with the right amount of self confidence it looks stunning! It has recently been sported by the model Irina Lazareanu and will cause a real stir.

6/ The Untamed Mane

This look is all about voluminous natural curls, with a centre parting to set of this powerful look. As a rule the more unruly the hair looks, the better. Works well for those with naturally curly hair, but can also be achieved by tightly tonged curls doused in hairspray. Beyonce hold the torch for this look, teaming her bouncy locks with her fiery personality.
