Top Ten New Season Hair Ideas to put the Bounce Back in your Barnet - Part 2
Part 2
5. Crimping

Bet you never thought you see this on the list but crimping is back and having a fashion moment! It is back on the block like many 80s retro trends, and can add some real catwalk points to your look. For a more subtle effect limit yourself to random sections and pin back to reveal crimped sections. Recently Fearne Cotton, amongst others, has been seen sporting the look, so if you’re feeling brave give it a go!
4. Seeing Red

For the past few decades fashion has had a blonde obsession, but it seems the recent red revolution as it continues to spread like wildfire across the media. It is considered the best colour for fair skin as it enhances facial features, but depending on the hue it can be worn by most. This season it’s all about richly coloured and natural looking hair. Have a look at Karen Elson’s vibrant locks in her campaign for St John Spring/Summer 2010.
3. Comb it over

This style harks back to the screen sirens of the 1960s, such as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. Its recent revival is the result of the popularity of the style in the popular television series ‘Mad Men’, and in particular the style of the secretary Joan Holloway. Achieve the look by parting the hair low on one side and sweeping it across the forehead. Then secure into a coil pinned around a bun ring and voila! Instant classic style.
2. Violet Vixen

Violet has had a serious moment this season, not only in fashion but also in hair colour. A colour that is, wrongly, associated with the goths of the world is now clamouring out of the dark and being recognised for creating a subtle, yet sophisticated effect. It looks great in particular if there is a dark hair coloration with violet reflexions. It is different and daring, and such a transformation if best left to salon experts. So if you’re looking for a new quirky look, why not join the colourful band wagon.
1. Pretty in Plaits

Braids may often be associated with little girls and bunches but adding a braid to your hair adds instant fun and texture. A plait across the front is the ideal solution for a second-day fringe, saving you from any greasy fringe disasters. Fishtail plaits in particular are having a serious moment in the spotlight, notoriously tricky but achieve a great tousled look. Alexander Wang’s use of plaits in his S/S 2010 shows rocketed them into the limelight, sparking a relaxed plait trend that has us pining for our days in the school yard.
