Can I Tempt You With The Dog Cut Madam? The 10 Worst Hair Styles of All Time
We've all had a few dodgy cuts in our time, everyone in the world has, but some have always been that little bit worse than others. You know, the kid whose mum accidentally sent the clippers that little bit too far but didn't tell him till everyone laughed at him at school; or the "cool" girl at school who decided that dying her hair with what could only be highly radioactive material was a good idea. At Secret Salons after many an argument (some people were suspiciously defensive of certain cuts), we've amassed what we believe to be the 10 very worst hair styles in the world...ever. Prepare yourself and get ready for flashbacks because here we go...
10/ The Rat Tail
Clocking in at number 10 is the fantastic Rat Tail, a veritable stalwart of the playground. No-one could ever establish whether it was a hint of rebellion, cry for help or if it was just out of the reach of the clippers, but what was undeniable was it's tuggable-ness. Also known as the "Mother's Leash".
9/ The Bowl Cut
Ah, the bowl cut. The bastion of lazy and cheap mums - stick a pudding bowl on your child's head and just go nuts. But in some ways the bowl cut was so much more than this - it was an art form, a geometrical delight, an institution of acceptable ridiculousness. Male or female we've all probably had one, the girls' variety made up of two bowl sizes whereas the boy's cut was simply one, either way it didn't exactly look fantastic. Or even reasonable.
8/ The Graduated Cut
Maybe "graduated" was meant to look a bit studious, a bit more professional. Maybe it did. But in hindsight, it probably didn't - when your hair is as high as the graduated cut took it it has a tendency to make one look like one has a significantly sized head and therefore develops a slightly unnerving facade.
7/ Permed and Teased
Never has a haircut summed up its consequences more succinctly than this one. The short sides and flagrant topping makes the wearer look a little bit like a mushroom cloud, but there's certainly nothing radiant about it. A great way to let the roots show through too.
6/ The "Dog"
Bet you didn't expect this one. Whoever dreamed up this monstrosity must have been the hairdressing equivalent of a mad scientist. First and foremost there are two faces with this hairstyle, and it's not immediately clear which one is real - indeed to many an observer it may simply appear like a dog is resting on the subjects head. Either way it's frankly ridiculous, and probably very, very expensive.
