What to do with your unwanted Christmas gifts
We've all been there: the unwanted pair of horrendous pink socks that you're sure to never wear; the Christmas jumper that doesn't quite fit; that DVD you just bought about 3 weeks ago. The unwanted Christmas gifts that end up sitting in your cupboard, virtually untouched, certainly undesired. But believe it or not, there are useful things you can do with them!
1/ Exchange
As a customer, you've actually no direct rights to return a gift if you simply just don't like it. However, most shops will actually offer an exchange policy, or even a direct refund policy if you return it within a given period. You're going to need to get hold of that receipt off the gift-giver though, which can be an awkward moment!
2/ Charity
Christmas is the time for giving, so if your gift is entirely un-useful and unappealing to you you can still help someone else out by donating to a charity shop or even direct to a charity. There's plenty of people out there more needy that you, so why not help them out? It will undoubtedly make you feel a bit better too!
3/ Recycle
OK, so there's likely to be some gifts that simply aren't redeemable or resaleable. Why not recycle them instead? Your local recycle depot will be glad to help you out and you can rest assured that your work is helping save the environment by getting rid of that little bit of extra clutter in your cupboard!
4/ Give them away again!
A naff gift for you might be a perfect one for someone else, so always consider the re-wrap option! It's ideal for those gifts in the wrong sizes or styles, and gets you in their good books too. Just make sure you don't gift wrap it back to the original sender...that doesn't go down to well!
