Top Ten Easy Ways to Speed Up Your Beauty Routine
We’ve all been there...its 7am, you’re due at the office at 8 but you’ve only just awoken from your peaceful slumber. It’s definitely time to PANIC! Or is it? Here at Secret Salons we have compiled a list of the Top Ten easiest ways to speed up your morning beauty routine. Not only will these prove invaluable for when you have 21 seconds to go, but they may also mean that if you’ve had a heavier-than-you-should-have evening the night before you can enjoy some much savoured minutes in bed...
1. A touch of colour can work wonders on your sleepy looking face in the morning. A light cream blush can act as both an eyeshadow, cheek blush and lip colour. Just simply use your fingers to dab small amounts on and smear to blend and hey presto – beautiful, bright looking skin.
2. Ensure that you have a spare 5 minutes during the week to give your hair a real nourishing treatment with a conditioning hair mask. Hair that is well conditioned is less prone to frizz and will be much more manageable in the mornings, making it easier for to you to handle quickly before you speed out the door.
3. Forget curling your hair with irons in the morning – no time! Quickly pop a couple of velcro rollers into your dry hair, spritz them with a styling spray and pop them under a shower cap whilst you have your morning wash. Blast them with a bit of heat and release them for quick and easy bouncing volume, setting the look with a shine holding
hairspray.
4. If your hair is verging dangerously towards the greasy stage but you have no time to wash you barnet then reach for the dry shampoo. Dry shampoo is such a life saver when you’re having a manic morning rush as it completely soaks up the grease and keeps your locks looking fresh. Be careful not to over-do it though as a prematurely grey barnet is never a good look. If you have no dry shampoo to hand, try talcum powder, which works equally well, or use a large powder brush to dab and blend powder into your roots to avert the greasy mop look.
5. Save time in the mornings when styling your hair by focusing only on your fringe, the rest of the hair is much less important. Blow dry and style your fringe, and pull the rest of your hair back into a ponytail of headband to keep the main attraction looking pretty and well-presented.
6. To save time in the mornings try and do some of your prep work the night before. For example if you straighten your hair the night before it will still be straight the next day, freeing up bags of time in the morning. All you have to do is add a bit of serum to keep that frizz at bay and you are good to go!

7. A really easy way to save time if you’re in a rush is to buy a more powerful hairdryer – makes sense doesn’t it? Hairdryers with ionic technology are said to dry your hair much faster, ensuring you have time to blast your hair before you run out the door.
8. If you’re in such a rush you don’t even have time for makeup try the age old trick of just splashing your face with cold water. It leaves the skin looking fresh and tightens pores, leaving you with a beaming complexion. This look works really well for those with a sun kissed face, and those who can survive without their concealer...aka not many of us!
9. For quick eye make-up skip the shadow, stick to a neutral look to save you time. Use a light coloured eye liner across your lash line and smudge it upwards, blending it into your lid. This may save you oodles of time but still keep your eyes defined and perky.
10. And finally one almost essential part of the make-up routine is curling eyelashes, but again this is a one for those with the luxury of time. An alternative would be to press your eyelashes upwards using your fingers for five seconds or so, the heat from your finger apparently helps encourage the lashes to stay put. You could also try blasting your curlers with a hairdryer to ensure they give your lashes real staying power, rather than waiting for your heated curlers to warm up, saving you time.
