Beauty Starts on the Inside. Which Vitamins Do You Need to Stay Gorgeous?
It’s important to remember that maintaining your beauty is not all about buying expensive skin creams and beauty products. Start your beauty regime the minute you wake up, by thinking carefully about what food you consume. The vitamins that are found in certain foods can have amazing, and almost instant effects on your appearance. Had dry skin recently? Maybe you haven’t been getting enough vitamin C. Feeling a lack of energy? Might be time to think about including a bit more vitamin B in your diet. Read on to find out how the most important vitamins could help you stay as gorgeous as you should be.

1. Vitamin A
What’s it good for?
Vitamin A is essential in order to maintain good vision and bright, shining eyes. And if eyes are the window to the soul, then we definitely want them looking lovely, don’t we?
Where can I get it?
Vitamin A can be found in yellow and green vegetables – the prime suspects being carrots (so there is some truth about the carrot/good sight folklore...), sweet potato, kale, and broccoli.
2. Vitamin B
What’s it good for?
Raising metabolism, maintaining good skin tone, and encourages red cell growth – which prevents anaemia.
Where can I get it?
Start those summer barbeques - meat and fish such as tuna are great sources of Vitamin B. If you’re not feeling meaty, tuck into potatoes, bananas, lentils and Marmite.
3. Vitamin C
What’s it good for?
Producing collagen, and repairing bones and teeth. It is essential, therefore, for maintaining healthy skin, hair, and teeth. An orange a day keeps the doctor away – as well as split ends, dry skin, cracked nails...
Where can I get it?
The most well known source of Vit C is citrus fruits – but you can also get it in tomatoes, broccoli, leafy greens, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, mango, and green and red peppers.
4. Vitamin D
What’s it good for?
Improving the immune system, and protecting against heart disease and cancer. It’s also great for building new bones, and it’s essential to have a strong skeleton.
Where can I get it?
Oily fish and eggs are an excellent source of the vitamin, and exposure to sun allows the skin to produce it naturally. Just make sure you use plenty of high factor sun tan lotion before sunbathing!
5. Vitamin E
What’s it good for?
Skin, skin, skin. It is taken to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and is known for contributing to repairing damaged skin.
Where can I get it?
Nuts, such as almonds and hazelnuts, oily fish, such as sardines, and eggs. (We wouldn'd necessarily recommend a combination of all three!)
