Ealing Studios on Ealing Green is possibly the most well known landmark in Ealing. As well as being the oldest in the world, the studio has produced many popular British films and television programmes, such as The Ladykillers (1955), Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) and The Lavender Hill Mob (1951), as well as more recent productions including: Notting Hill (1999), Shaun of the Dead (2004) and The Royle Family. The Artists Theatre School, which operates in Ealing Studios, runs acting workshops. Another attraction in W5 is Ealing Local History Centre on The Broadway, which tells the long history of the area, from around 5000 B.C. to the present day. For sports fans, Ealing Cricket Club, which has been running since 1871, can be found off Corfton Road. The club grounds also host an annual firework display. Ealing Town Hall on New Broadway is a late-Victorian gothic structure which was built in 1886. Close by is Pitshanger Manor and Gallery, which can be found on Walpole Park, Mattock Lane. The impressive building hosts a variety of exhibitions and events, including musical concerts, art and craft displays and workshops. There are some beautiful public parks in Ealing, an example being Ealing Common off Uxbridge Road, which has a large open green space and woodland. The common is use for sporting events, running, walking and cycling as well as several large open-air festivals at the height of summer. Havers Green, behind Ealing Broadway is another example, which also offers sports facilities. Ealing Summer Festival is a popular attraction, which runs throughout Ealing during the summer. For transport in the area, Ealing Broadway Railway Station off Haven Green has 6 trains per hour running to Paddington. The station is also the final stop on both the District and Central Underground lines. Another underground station, South Ealing Tube on South Ealing Roadruns on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly Line.
